Head of Private Equity, Venture Capital and Business Transformation (m/f/d) 

 
The Private Equity & Venture Capital division invests in private equity and venture capital funds, as well as in (co-)investments with fund managers and other partners, across developing and emerging markets worldwide. In doing so, it actively supports funds and portfolio companies throughout the entire investment lifecycle—from due diligence and investment execution to portfolio management, including participation in boards and advisory committees, and ultimately exit management. Business Support Services may complement investments to enhance DEG’s value proposition as an investor and partner. 

Are you interested in taking on the following responsibilities?

  • Managing three Equity departments with assigned international equity specialists located across various locations worldwide.
  • Managing the Business Transformation department, with responsibility for digitalization, process improvement, and change management initiatives.
  • Managing business development and performance across the assigned departments to achieve the company’s objectives in Private Equity, Venture Capital, and Business Transformation.
  • Driving the strategic direction of the division and its departments, while coordinating their ongoing development as a member of senior management.
  • Coordinating the further development and implementation of DEG-wide initiatives aimed at the continuous professionalization of the equity investment business.
  • Maintaining and expanding relationships with stakeholders and networks, particularly with clients, international financing partners, as well as within DEG and KfW Group. 

Do these qualifications describe you? Then we would like to hear from you!

  • Several years of relevant experience in private equity investments, both through fund investments and direct investments, ideally in developing and emerging markets.
  • Excellent knowledge of local markets and competitive environments, as well as solid understanding of regulatory and legal requirements related to risk management in the banking sector.
  • Proven experience in leading highly qualified professionals and managing complex, interdisciplinary teams.
  • Strong affinity for strategic and conceptual topics, combined with experience in actively shaping and driving transformation and change processes.
  • Several years of experience in process management and performance measurement.
  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset with a cross-functional perspective focused on overall business success, coupled with transparent and persuasive communication skills.
  • Excellent command of English is mandatory; German and another language (French, Spanish or Portuguese) is an asset.
