We are looking for you to strengthen our Corporate Finance division as:
Head of Industries & Services and German Business Unit (m/f/d)
Within our Corporate Finance – Industries & Services division, we combine financing and advisory services to enable sustainable, high-impact investments in developing and emerging markets. We provide capital in the form of loans (corporate finance and project finance), bonds, and mezzanine financing, and have exensive expertise across the debt financing spectrum. As a long-term and reliable partner, we support our clients not only financially, but also through our extensive network and tailored advisory services, including business analysis and the implementation of international Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards.
Are you interested in taking on the following responsibilities?
- Managing four departments, including their associated international office locations, three of which are regional departments responsible for financing local companies and one global department focused on financing European and German companies investing in DEG target markets.
- Taking care of new business origination, portfolio management, and performance management across the four departments to achieve strategic growth objectives.
- Coordinating all international DEG office locations.
- Defining the strategic direction of the division and its departments and steering their continued development as a member of senior management.
- Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and networks, particularly clients, international financing partners, as well as colleagues across DEG and KfW Group.

- Several years of relevant experience in international corporate financing in developing and emerging markets.
- Excellent knowledge of local markets and competitive environments, combined with a solid understanding of regulatory and legal requirements relating to risk management in the banking sector.
- Demonstrated experience in leading highly qualified professionals and managing complex, interdisciplinary teams.
- Strong affinity for and experience with strategic and conceptual topics, as well as a keen understanding of political and strategic stakeholder engagement within the German financing landscape.
- Expertise in strategic communication and in building and managing sustainable, resilient client relationships (“relationship banking”) at senior executive level in the international corporate banking environment.
- A strong entrepreneurial mindset and cross-functional perspective focused on achieving overall business success.
- Excellent command of English is mandatory; German and another language (French, Spanish or Portuguese) is an asset.
